The Scancos Annual Conference

Copenhagen,  16th - 17th November at Scandic Copenhagen

The Scandinavian Society of Cosmetic Chemists organizes every year a scientific conference which gathers together the most important R&D formulators, marketing people and other important decision makers from the cosmetic industry of the Nordic countries.

The 2017 conference will be held in Copenhagen and the conference venue is Scandic Copenhagen, conveniently located in the heart of the city.

Sustainability will be the main topic of the 2017 conference, looked at from various perspectives: from sourcing and manufacturing of raw materials to the finished products. More information coming soon!

From our 2016 Conference:

These are the welcoming words of our Chairman:

There are no cosmetics without chemistry. On recent years the SCANCOS conference has been concentrating more on claims, ecolabels etc. Definitely important things for nowadays’ cosmetics, but nevertheless perhaps one step on the side from the formulation chemists’ basic work.

In 2015 in Helsinki we took one step back towards chemistry and discussed cosmetic formulation preservation, its effects on formulation stability etc. In 2016 we will continue our journey deeper to the always interesting world of chemistry and to what cosmetic formulators should take into account when creating new formulations. The working title ”Formulation Chemistry” speaks for itself.

We will try to put up an interesting combination of speakers and scientific lectures for the cosmetic chemists to enjoy. I welcome all our members and other interested parties to join the conference, network with their Nordic colleagues and enjoy of the cosy SCANCOS annual conference atmosphere.

Best regards,

Simon Riihelä
Chairman of the Board
